A month ago, I did something completely unnecessary.
I created my own meme token.
Not because I thought it was going to become the next Bitcoin.
Not because I had a roadmap.
Not because I was trying to build the next billion-dollar crypto project.
I just thought it would be fun.
So Coinstronauts ($COINS) was born on the PUF Launchpad inside World App.
A Very Serious Crypto Experiment™
If you've followed Coinstronauts for a while, you'll know the project has never taken itself too seriously.
The official description still reads:
$COINS is a meme token for internet astronauts, digital drifters, and anyone still emotionally recovering from 2021. Join the crew. Collect some COINS. Post nonsense. Pretend it all means something.
That pretty much sums it up.
I even made a YouTube Short showing exactly how I created the token and documenting the moment it immediately dumped.
Mission accomplished.
The Launchpad Has Officially Closed
Fast forward one month...
When I opened PUF this week, I was greeted with a message saying:
PUF Launchpad has shut down.
Launchpad operations have ended.
Instead, existing tokens can now be managed inside the PUF Wallet, where you can still swap, claim and manage tokens that were already created.
It was a strange moment.
Not because Coinstronauts disappeared...
...but because the place where it was born no longer exists.
Coinstronauts Lives On
The good news?
The token itself is still there.
Inside the PUF Wallet I can still see:
- Created: 1 month ago
- Blockchain: Worldchain
- Total Supply: 100,000,000 COINS
- Contract Address: still active
I currently own 14,556 COINS, which is probably worth considerably less than the coffee I'm drinking while writing this.
And honestly...
...that's completely fine.
This was never about getting rich.
Every Crypto Project Has A Story
One thing I've realised while building Coinstronauts is that every crypto project becomes a little snapshot of its time.
Some survive.
Some disappear.
Some platforms shut down.
Some communities move elsewhere.
Coinstronauts just happens to be documenting that journey as it happens.
One month ago I launched a meme coin.
Today the Launchpad that created it has already closed.
That's crypto.
Mission Continues
The Coinstronauts mission isn't changing.
I'll keep making videos.
I'll keep experimenting with World App.
I'll keep documenting weird crypto projects.
I'll keep posting Mission Logs.
And somewhere on Worldchain...
14,556 COINS are still floating around in space.
